Having graduated from IIT, Roorkee in the year 1998 in Civil Engineering and joining the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) the following year, approximately 26 years have been spent as a Group 'A' officer in the Infrastructure sector. During these years, association with important Ministries such as the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has taken place, in addition to a short spell in Engineers India Limited (a PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum). These opportunities provided an enriched and diversified experience in the maintenance of assets and construction of new assets in Railways, as well as in the design and commissioning of major MRTS Urban Mobility projects with innovative cost optimization techniques.

Work Experience
  1. Presently, the work involves serving as Chief Engineer with Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh, since 10th September 2020 on deputation for a period of 3 years, which has been extended to 5 years. During the current assignment, the priority section of Kanpur Metro, covering 10 km from IIT Kanpur to Naubasta, was commissioned in December 2021 in a record time of 2 years and 2 months, including the challenging period of lockdown during Covid, without any cost or time overrun.
  2. Furthermore, the priority section of Agra Metro, covering 6 km from Taj East Gate to Jama Masjid, was inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister on 6th March 2024. The Agra Metro project has earned the prestige of being completed in just 2 years, marking the fastest construction of a Metro in India.
  3. Prior to joining the Metro, during the tenure as Director in the Track Machine Directorate of RDSO, Lucknow, an opportunity was presented to be associated with the Dedicated Test Track for Indian Railways.
Nature of Work
  1. The present assignment involves the construction of the Metro track in both the Viaduct and Underground sections.
  2. In the earlier assignment in Metro, the work included the design of civil structures in the Metro.
  3. During the earlier regime as Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination) in the Lucknow division of Railways, second entries with new station buildings featuring state-of-the-art passenger amenities were conceptualized and commissioned at crowded stations located in the heart of Lucknow.
